Hi everybody. Welcome to my new website. I hope you enjoy it. I am excited to be up in the cyber world again. I have to thank Steve Visconti who got this rolling.
We are in Courchevel for the third World Cup Slalom of the season. I already have three wins in slalom this season, two FIS races and a NorAm. I am looking for a result on the World Cup. I feel, I finally have everything dialed in. I am skiing great and my skis feel really good. I was in 4th place just 10 gates from the finish today in Courchevel. But I passed by a gate on the bottom flat and had to hike. I was really going for it and that is why I am so stoked. I know if I can ski like that I can have great results on the World Cup.
Courchevel if you have never been here is a magical place. When you think of romantic France, this is the town you would want to be transported to. It’s a magical winter wonderland, and no better place to be at Christmas time if you are a skier. The mountains are endless, with chairs, pomas and gondolas going to the far reach corners of every range within sight.
Tomorrow we are racing again here in Courchevel but it is a FIS race so it’s really just to practice. I am also training GS tomorrow with the French girls. Then we have a long, long, long drive back to Innsbruck (Telfs) for Christmas. We will celebrate with our Austrian friends Ilse and her family. It is a tradition I have shared with them for a long time. She will cook a fabulous raclette and we will sing silent night in three different languages and open gifts. Austria is wonderful and festive at Christmas time.
Lastly, Federico just painted my helmet and he made a tribute design to Andy Irons. Andy is an amazing surfer who just passed on. He was young and very inspiring. I love my new helmet paint. I will post photos soon.
Share love and peace in this holiday season. Do what you can to help somebody who needs you.
